The Best Cleanroom Design Award recognises outstanding achievement in the planning, design, and implementation of cleanroom facilities.
This award honours designs that not only meet stringent contamination-control and regulatory requirements but also enhance operational productivity, sustainability, flexibility, and user experience.
This can include new builds as well as expansion and improvement projects.
Entry guidance:
- Provide an overview of the project
- Give any unique and/or interesting aspects of the project
- Explain how the design positively impacts contamination control, the product or process, and the staff, whilst considering sustainability, budget, and timeline
- Feedback from users or stakeholders is preferred
The Cleanroom Innovation Award recognises outstanding innovation that advances cleanroom technology, processes, or operational practices.
This award honours new ideas, products, systems, or approaches that address real-world cleanroom challenges and deliver measurable improvements in contamination control, efficiency, compliance, or usability.
This should be a single product, not a range, and can include new technologies, novel applications of existing technologies, or innovative operational practices.
Entry guidance:
- Provide an overview of the innovation and the problem it addresses, and how it is forward-thinking
- Describe what makes the innovation unique or different from existing solutions
- Explain how it has been implemented or tested in practice
- Feedback from users or stakeholders is preferred
The Sustainability in Cleanroom Practices Award recognises excellence in reducing the environmental impact of cleanroom operations while maintaining the necessary high standards of performance and compliance.
This award honours initiatives, technologies, or practices that demonstrate leadership in energy efficiency, resource conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable lifecycle management within cleanroom environments.
This can include applications such as operational practices, system upgrades, or organisation-wide sustainability initiatives.
Entry guidance:
- Provide an overview of the sustainability initiative or practice
- Explain the environmental challenge being addressed
- Demonstrate measurable reductions in energy, water, waste, and/or emissions
- Explain how cleanroom performance and compliance are maintained
The Best New PPE Award recognises newly developed personal protective equipment designed specifically for use in cleanrooms and controlled environments.
This award honours PPE that enhances contamination control, user comfort, safety, and durability while supporting efficient and compliant cleanroom operations.
This award should be a single product, not a range, and is open to gloves, garments, goggles, and other wearable cleanroom PPE.
Entry guidance:
- Provide an overview of the PPE product with the intended cleanroom application and user group
- Describe the materials, design, and key performance features, explaining any unique features
- Demonstrate compliance with relevant cleanroom standards
- User feedback or performance data is preferred
The Best Disinfectant Product Award recognises excellence in disinfectant sprays or wipes developed for cleanroom and controlled environments.
This award honours products that deliver effective microbial control while being safe to use, compatible with cleanroom materials, and easy to integrate into routine cleaning regimes.
This award is open to all types of disinfectant products, and should be a single product, not a range.
Entry guidance:
- Provide an overview of the disinfectant product
Explain the intended cleanroom application and use case - Describe the formulation and spectrum of microbial efficacy
- Demonstrate compatibility with cleanroom surfaces and equipment
- Provide validation data, test results, or user feedback
The Cleanroom Training and Education Award recognises excellence in training programmes, educational tools, or initiatives that improve cleanroom knowledge, behaviour, and compliance.
This award honours training that effectively equips personnel with the skills and understanding required to maintain contamination control and operational consistency.
This can include in-person training programmes, digital platforms, simulations, or blended learning approaches.
Entry guidance:
- Provide an overview of the training or education approach
- Describe the target audience and learning objectives
- Demonstrate how the training improves cleanroom behaviour and compliance
- Provide evidence of measurable outcomes or performance improvements
- Feedback from participants or stakeholders is preferred
The Best Cleanroom HVAC System Award recognises outstanding HVAC system design or implementation that supports cleanroom performance, reliability, and compliance.
This award honours systems that effectively control airflow, filtration, pressure, and environmental conditions while balancing energy efficiency and operational demands.
This can include new systems, system upgrades, or significant optimisation projects.
Entry guidance:
- Provide an overview of the HVAC system or project
- Explain how the system supports contamination control and classification
- Demonstrate energy efficiency and sustainability considerations
- Explain reliability, monitoring, and maintenance strategies
The Best Environmental Monitoring Award recognises excellence in monitoring systems or programmes that ensure cleanroom conditions are consistently maintained and compliant.
This award honours solutions that deliver accurate, reliable, and actionable environmental data to support contamination control, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
This can include applications such as particle monitoring, microbial monitoring, or integrated environmental monitoring systems.
Entry guidance:
- Provide an overview of the monitoring system or programme
- Describe the parameters monitored and monitoring methodology
- Demonstrate data accuracy, reliability, and accessibility
Explain alarm, alert, and response processes
